Cengage Group Statement on the "Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act" and “A Stronger Workforce for America Act”
Cengage CEO Michael Hansen released the following statement on the introductions of “A Stronger Workforce for America Act” and the “Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act”:
"At Cengage Group, we are committed to enabling education for employment. Learners want to know the time they spend studying and acquiring new skills will help them get a job, support their families, and grow in their careers.
"The “Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act” and “A Stronger Workforce for America Act” introduced in Congress this week mark a significant step in modernizing our education and workforce systems to better meet the needs of students, workers, and employers. Importantly, these bills focus on key factors that promote multiple learning pathways, including:
- Advancing flexible and innovative approaches to learning that provide individuals with more options when it comes to where and how they learn,
- Making skills education more affordable and accessible to all learners, and
- Focusing on quality learning, and importantly, measuring outcomes.
"I commend the U.S. House of Representatives’ Education and the Workforce Committee, Chairwoman Foxx and Ranking Member Scott as well as Representatives Stefanik and DeSaulnier for their work on this legislation. Cengage Group stands ready to work with Congress on advancing these priorities through the legislative process."
