Cengage Group Outlines Policy Priorities for the 118th Congress
On January 18, 2023, Cengage Group sent a letter to U.S. Congressional leadership encouraging the 118th Congress to prioritize high-quality skills education and training for every American.
As our economy evolves, American students and workers will need to constantly acquire new sets of skills throughout their lifetime. Working in partnership with the private and public sector, the United States can begin the shift toward skills-based education and hiring. This will aid in addressing the inequities within the current system by minimizing stigma of alternative education paths, maximizing access to affordable quality education and normalizing the pursuit of certificates, badges and other shorter duration programs that help more individuals develop employable skills in a flexible, real-time manner. We encourage Congress to work alongside us to further these priorities.
