Cengage and Columbia College of Missouri Partner to Provide Course Materials at No Cost to Students

BOSTON and COLUMBIA, MO, July 17, 2018 — Cengage, an education and technology company, and Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, are partnering to deliver Cengage course materials at no cost through the college’s TruitionSM initiative. Leveraging the Cengage Inclusive Access model, this Fall thousands of students will have digital access to their Cengage material beginning on or before the first day of class.

Columbia College’s TruitionSM (truth + tuition) features an affordable, comprehensive tuition rate that eliminates all fees for students and provides all course materials for the start of classes. TruitionSM is for all students enrolled in online classes, evening classes and in-seat classes at any of Columbia College’s 35 campus locations nationwide.

The Cengage Inclusive Access model delivers content directly and seamlessly to an institution’s Learning Management System (LMS) or other preferred channel. Cengage works closely with an institution’s leadership to develop a model unique to their needs.

“We are pleased to partner with Cengage as one of our key vendors as we launch our TruitionSM initiative, which offers adult and online students books at no cost while eliminating all fees,” said Dr. Piyusha Singh, Columbia College’s interim provost and vice president for Online Education. “Providing our students with access to eTexts and other educational materials in a timely and efficient manner is vital to the success of this initiative and we are confident that a proven leader in the industry like Cengage can help in fulfilling that need.”

“We applaud Columbia College for their commitment to improving the student experience and their leadership in developing innovative models to bring down the cost of higher education,” said Andrea Iorio, Business Development Director, Cengage. “Providing easy and affordable access to quality course materials ensures students are poised for success when the semester begins.”
