National Mentoring Month: Navigating Obstacles and Achieving Goals
National Mentoring Month is time dedicated to recognizing the importance of mentorship in personal and professional growth. At Cengage Group, we understand the significance of mentorship and the impact it can have on individuals' careers.
According to our report, one of the primary reasons for individuals leaving their jobs is the feeling of being stuck in their role or industry, with limited opportunities for growth. Conversely, one of the primary reasons for accepting new job offers is the presence of a clear path to growth and development within the company (30%).
Understanding these trends, we have made it a priority to provide employees with a range of professional development tools and experiences to meet their unique needs. Regardless of how someone wants to develop in their career, we have something to offer that aligns with their goals from tuition reimbursement for degree or certification courses to formal mentorship programs, such as Pathways, and Lean In Circles sponsored by our Women in Tech Employee Resource Group. These benefits, and more, are provided to create a holistic employee experience, where individuals can thrive both personally and professionally.
To celebrate National Mentoring Month, we spoke with members of our executive team, who shared their advice on overcoming obstacles, achieving goals, staying motivated and maintaining persistence.
