Our History as a Top Edtech Company

Cengage Group's roots in education can be traced back more than one hundred years. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, we expanded our footprint within higher education and established ourselves as a premier publisher of college and professional textbooks. As early as the 1990s, the company began to invest in digital. To remain on the cutting edge of emerging technology, our businesses began to adapt to the rise of courseware, internet accessibility, and IT systems to introduce electronic materials to teachers and students.

In the 2000s, we began enabling a new generation of learners with innovative education technology.
