Dawn Ehlers

Dawn Ehlers currently serves as Cengage Group’s General Counsel. In this role, she oversees the Legal team, which includes Legal Operations and Government Affairs. Dawn and her team provide legal advice to support the company’s business operations and strategic initiatives primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, strategic transactions, employment matters, dispute resolution and litigation, intellectual property protection, commercial contracting, privacy and compliance.

Dawn has more than 35 years of experience working in the legal industry. Dawn first joined Cengage Group at the time of its divestiture from The Thomson Corporation in 2007. She has held a number of roles in the legal organization in her 17 years with the company, including Senior Employment Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, Employment and Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and currently serving as General Counsel. Prior to joining Cengage Group, Dawn was an attorney with Thomson and an associate at Epstein Becker & Green in New York City.

Dawn holds a J.D. from St. John’s Law School and a B.A. from Boston College. She is based in Connecticut.
