Christos M. Cotsakos

Christos M. Cotsakos has been a Director of Cengage Group since August 7, 2023. Dr. Cotsakos is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Pennington Ventures, a privately held technology, strategic management and advisory company. He is also the co-founder and chairman of Mutasian Media, LLC and Mutasian Entertainment, LLC, creative educational entertainment companies for children. In addition, Dr. Cotsakos is chairman of Boulevard Arts, Inc, a developer of arts-based experiences through virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies, and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Sonrava Health, senior advisor to New Mountain Capital and as a technical and financial advisor for CCS Medical and Alterna Securities. Previously, Dr. Cotsakos held senior executive positions and served on the boards at several public and private companies, including as chairman and chief executive officer of E*TRADE Group, Inc., as global co-chief executive officer, president and chief operating officer of ACNielsen and in senior executive roles at Federal Express Corporation.

Dr. Cotsakos received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of London, an MBA from Pepperdine University and a B.A. in Communications from William Paterson University.
